Crooked River Trail.

This scenic, 6.6-mile out-and-back meanders along the Crooked River and boasts abundant fishing holes and a sandy beach. Start at the Crooked River Trailhead and hike south. Almost immediately, the path crosses Edna Creek on a footbridge, then winds through old and new growth forests spotted with clearings.
Near the end of the first mile, the route steepens for a short distance before passing car-sized boulders. (Anglers can scramble up truck-sized boulders to access a deep fishing hole before continuing on.) Half a mile later, You will cross a newly built bridge. Many guides will say you have to get wet or cross on rocks, that is no longer the case. After 2 miles, the cool, shaded trail passes a rocky perch overlooking the river—peer down the rocky face for striking views. From here, it’s another mile to a sandy area where you can relax or take a dip in the cool river before hiking back to the trailhead.

TO TRAILHEAD: From Idaho City, head east on ID 21/Ponderosa Pine Scenic Rte. for 17.7 miles. Turn right onto Crooked River Rd./National Forest Develop Rd. 384. Follow 1.1 miles to the trailhead on the right.

This is the new bridge, so you no longer have to get wet or at least have the chance of getting wet.

The end of the trail. I nice spot to take a dip.. It was may here so the water was very cold.

Bench lakes Idaho

The trail head is located as Redfish Lake just a few miles outside of Stanley Idaho. The trail marker states it is 3.5 miles to the lake but my gps  says its 4.5. The trail to the lake is a steady uphill the entire way with a few steeper sections. It is rocky but it is a very easy trail to follow due to it being very popular.

3.5 my ass

And i am off.

This creek is at the start of the trail, then there is no water till you get to the lake

We walked right up on this girl. She let us watch her for a little bit then she took off.

This is a very beautiful trail.

The first smaller lake.. Words cant describe the view

The second, bigger lake.

Dry Creek trail

Dry Creek trail is a nice easy day hike. Only takes a few hours and has some nice views. The trail itself follows the creek and there is some nice areas to stop and have a bite to eat under some trees in the shade. Nice trail.

Beginning of the trail

One of two water crossings. Its not too bad you can see those rocks are large enough to step on.

Must of been some reason nasty winds going through here. Seen a few limbs broken here and there.

you follow this creek the entire length of the trail.
